Crocheted Dickey Collar with Sequins and Beads

I pulled this pattern from a 1953 issue of Smart Crochet.   Technically, a dickey is a small fabric insert worn to fill the neckline.  This one is an ultimate dickey --- all dressed up and ready to go out.

Here we have a nice half diamond shape insert attached to a simple neck band.   It is easily sized - start with a chain slightly larger than your own neck.   Once finished, sew a sequin and bead combination on the sc's, or in any design you desire.

Dickeys were quite popular in the 1950's and 1960s.   No reason though, for them not to be part of your current fashions.   Pair up with a semi-fitted jacket or dressy slacks for a 'just right' look.

If you would like to give is a try, I have the pattern in my shop as a  FREE DOWNLOAD.

Don't you think if you made two and stitched them together you just might have a little handbag?

Perhaps you'll give it a try.

Thanks for dropping by,
Lorrie
